Technology & Transition (TNT) Meeting:
WARRP S&T Kick-Off, Transitions-in-Progress

The WARRP Technology and Transition (TNT) Meeting was held on February 29th at the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, CO.  This one-day event provided the WARRP S&T stakeholders with progress updates on all science and technology (S&T) products and transition agreements.  The meeting was hosted by the WARRP Technology and Transition Managers, who have been working closely with the various performers and transition partners to ensure successful completion of all efforts by the conclusion of WARRP in September 2012.

The WARRP TNT Meeting was aimed at a broad range of subject matter experts in recovery and remediation activities, spanning local, regional, state, and federal governments, the military, the private sector, and non-profit organizations.  Participants represented various strategic, operational, and research and development communities, including:  DHS S&T, EPA, FEMA, USNORTHCOM, National Guard Bureau, State of Colorado Department of Local Affairs, and National Laboratories.

The meeting occurred in two sessions:
Technology Session – A series of 25-minute S&T project overviews presented by the WARRP S&T performers.
Transition Session – A series of 15-minute transition product overviews by WARRP Transition performers.

All presentations provided information on current status, defined product / technological development plan, transition pathway, demonstration requirements, and schedule.   To date, all S&T and transition projects are on track to accomplish product requirements by the end of the program.   An up-to-date transition scorecard is provided in the figure below.

Overall, the TNT Meeting provided a valuable coordination opportunity for WARRP S&T and Transition stakeholders.   Over the next several months, the WARRP S&T and Transition Managers will continue to work with the performers and transition partners to monitor project progress and make adjustments as needed.  In addition, the Transition Manager will continue progress toward the drafting and signing of transition agreements, with the goal of over 90% transition for all WARRP products.

Final demonstrations and showcasing of all S&T and Transition products will take place at the WARRP Capstone Event on September 12-13, 2012.  All program members are highly encouraged to attend and participate in the hands-on demonstrations.
